It's sad when your mom and aunt have to remind you to update your blog, considering they are probably 2 of 3 people who actually read this. Anyways ladies, this one is for you.
Last weekend Adam, Kory and I went into the city to watch the Spartans take on the Fightin' Irish. At a Jets game Adam and I met the treasurer of the greater NYC MSU Alumni chapter. We found out that fellow MSU alums in the 'big apple' tailgate at central park, then head over to a bar on the upper west side of the city to watch the game together. After a 2 and a half hour journey on the train, PATH and subway we finally made it to central park a half hour before tht game began. We grabbed some "road colas" (mixing them in a telephone booth, with no telephone) and walked over to Blondies. When we arrived about 20 minutes early the bar was already packed and the back room, which is reserved for Spartans, was already full. We only had to wait about 10 minutes and we were seated, cold beers in hand to watch a great game!! The atmosphere at Blondies is the next best thing to being in EL, and you're watching your team, with fellow alums. We had so much fun screaming, cheering and chanting fight songs, I forgot we were in a bar. After the Spartans defeated the Fightin' Irish in overtime we treked back to Hoboken and met up with our very drunk friends at their last stop on an all day barcrawl. It was such a great day... we met new people and actually got out of NJ. I decided that the upper west side is my favorite part of the city, and I can't wait to go back... hopefully this weekend. Ever since I arrived in NJ 4 months ago (I can't believe it's been that long) we either went down to the shore or home for the weekend. I love the fall and it's the perfect opportunity to go exploring in the city, except for the fact that even now it seems every weekend is accounted for. I'm getting very excited to go home for the Michigan game, especially now that we beat ND. My dad is sure that the Spartans are going to pull it off, but you can never be too sure... look at last year. Anyways, it'll be nice to see everyone and my parents. We're going to celebrate my moms and I's birthday on that Sunday... I'm hoping for a BBQ in the backyard (hint hint). It's funny how I miss just being able to walk outside on the deck, or sit on the swing (well, what use to be a swing) in the backyard, and I wish I would have just "stayed at home more" like my mom always encouraged me to do when I was always on the go. Anyways, nothing too exciting to report, just thought I'd update everyone (everyone being my mom, who I speak w/ everyday, and my aunt, who my mom speaks with everyday, therefore there isn't much to update). Oh yeah, and Adam said his parents might be coming to NJ the weekend of my birthday, which will be something else to look forward to! Hope to be updating more often as I should have more time on the weekends.

Abbey! I LOVE reading your BLOGS, too! I'm going to assume that I'm the 3rd person that you were referring to in your essay! BLONDIE's sounds like it was an AWESOME place to watch that win! Can't wait to see you & Adam this weekend!
