A weekend trip to Rochester

This past weekend, Adam and I ventured to his parents home back in Rochester, New York. After finally getting on the road at 6:00, we ended up stuck in stop and go traffic for about 2 hours. Once we finally got moving, we arrived at about 12:30 in the morning. Adam's Mom and Dad waited up to greet us, and Aaron wasn't home yet. He went to Barnes and Noble to get the new copy of Harry Potter at midnight. He was number 458 in the line for the people who "reserved" their copies, and said that there was an even longer line of people who didn't. I'm glad I never got into that whole Harry Potter thing, it seems a little excessive.
Anyways, Saturday we got up and relaxed and then got ready for the wedding. Family friends of Adams were getting married, and the ceremony was at 2:00 in the afternoon. We arrived and found a hot and humid church that didn't have air conditioning. The ceremony was short and sweet, thank god. We then went back to Adam's parents house to kill some time between the wedding and the reception. We drank an expensive bottle of champagne, and then another one which wasn't so expensive. We had cheese too, which was the first time I'd ever had wine with cheese. I am a huge fan of this white cheddar kind, and I need to find out where they got it, and what kind it was... maybe it tasted so good because I was already half in the bag.
When we got to the reception, we started pounding the drinks because we didn't know if the cocktail hour meant that drinks (free drinks) would only be served for an hour. By dinner time I was pretty wasted, and the rest of the night we had a great time. The pictures are from the wedding. Take note of my dress...it cost me $9.99. It was orginally $186, it's Ralph Lauren and was on the rack at Lord and Taylor for 49.99, and when they rung it up we were all shocked! I'm glad that it fit!
Anyways, it was a great weekend, I am just sad that it seemed to go by so quickly. It's nice to be around family, even if just for a short time. I can't wait to my parents and sister come out in less than two weeks... I just wish they were bringing the dog too :(

Loved your take on the wedding and the pictures! I'm lucky I can do the word portion of blogging...don't have a clue as to how to add pictures. Guess I could ask Aaron while he's home this summer...he did change the wallpaper on the computer screen for us when we were away in California so now you don't have to see the blow up Sparty and the Christmas tree in our living room! Hope you are having a great time entertaining your family! Talk to you soon! Adam's mom
