Last night I had the pleasure of participating in my first ever "Spinning" class. For those of you who are unfamiliar, spinning is a sport which involves using a stand-still bike and riding in 3 different positions to fast beat music. I've heard tons of good things about spinning, and usually the classes are packed. When I checked in at the gym last night, I noticed only 2 people had signed up for the 6-7 class, so I figured "what the hell, if I'm going to make an ass of myself, it might as well be in front of as few people as possible."
When I walked into the room I found the instructor towards the front. I told her I was a beginner and she gave me a quick breakdown of the positions and the way the class works. I figured that I would glide through the hour class, seeing as the other two women looked to be over 40. After 5 minutes I realized that I was wrong. I never sweated so much in my entire life, I didn't even know my body could produce that much sweat.
All in all it was a great workout, and I'm sure I'll do it again, as soon as the pain in my body goes away.
