"Home"

So I’ve completely neglected my blog for a couple weeks, and don’t want to put it off any longer. I had a super long posting saved for my weekend at home, so I'm going to edit it, and finally get it posted.
Two weekends ago I went back to Michigan. I had to go home on Thursday night because I had an appointment for work on Friday morning. When my plane landed on Thursday night, my Mom and Dad were waiting at the airport so we could all go to dinner. I was so hungry having eaten at noon, and not landing until 6:30pm that I wouldn’t have cared where we ate, but was very happy to know we were going to one of my favorite Mediterranean restaurants, Cedar Gardens. The night one of my best friends, Mike came over and hung out for a bit. I fell asleep on the couch while watching Wedding Crashers and woke up at the end as Mike, my Mom and Dad were all still watching.
The next morning I went to my appointment and then returned to my parents house to go with my Mom to pick up my sister from school. After stopping at my grandma’s and my old work on the way home, the whole family went to dinner at our usual Lenten Friday restaurant. I say that it’s our usual Lenten Friday restaurant, but it’s also our usual Sunday post-church breakfast spot, and one of the few restaurants my parents will eat at on a regular basis.
On Friday night I went out with my friend Dave, and got to see his new place. It was much cleaner and nicer than the typical bachelor pad, and I was quite impressed with the kitchen and master bedroom. We hung out at his brothers house, then went to Hatchey’s in Utica, and then went to visit his other brother.
On Saturday I stopped by my friend Brian’s house to see how it was coming along. Brian bought his house in November and has been slowly remodeling the house. I haven’t seen Brian since before I left for NJ, and I wish I had a chance to spend more time with him. After Brian’s I headed out to Farmington to hang out with Emily and check out bridesmaids dresses. I liked all the dresses she liked and was able to get my sizing down so they can order it once she decides. After dress shopping Emily, Mike and I headed to Davison, Michigan to party and crash at Manore’s new house.
First off, Manore’s house was awesome!! It’s brand new and everything in it is new. Emily and I commented that we would never let people over to party if we had a house like this, especially knowing our friends history with destroying things. Anyways, it was so great to see everyone, and it felt good to be around people who really care about me, and enjoy my company.
After I got back to my parents house on Sunday, we went over to Dave and Ed’s house to see their baby bunnies. Ed has 4 german angora rabbits and recently bread them to have baby bunnies. They had 4 white and 3 black ones… they were so tiny and some didn’t even have their eyes open yet.
My mom had to go to work on Sunday and my Dad’s mom came over for dinner and to visit before I left to go back to NJ. As you can see I had a great visit back home. It’s always so hard to leave, but it’s even harder when you’re home and visiting with people you’ve missed so much. Thank you Mom and Dad for picking me up and allowing me to use your car to drive all around southeast Michigan! I miss you all so much, and I can’t wait to come “home” again.
