22... not as much fun as 21!

Well, I'm officially no longer 21. As much as I hated always being younger than all my peers in school, I actually tried to find ways to tell people how old I was once I hit the real world. For the past 4 months I liked telling people I had graduated college, found a job and relocated to NJ all at the ripe age of 21! I don't know what it was, but I felt so smart and mature. Anybody who knows the real me, knows I'm very far from mature, but it's weird that when I want to I can act professional.
Anyways, my birthday was very nice. On Friday, my co-workers brought in bagels w/ cream cheese, an ice cream cake and our HR lady baked me a devils food chocolate cake and banana bread. They all also chipped in and got me a gift certificate to Borders. Everyone was so nice, and I felt extra special. On Friday after work Adam picked me up and we met his parents (who came in town for the weekend) at their hotel, and went to dinner with them. On Friday night we went to a great Bar and Grille, and I got buffalo wings and steak... I was in heaven. On Saturday, Adam and I spent the day with his parents and discovered a brewery about 35 minutes South of my place. They didn't have a huge selection, but what I tasted was great... I think we'll have to go back as they change their beers every couple weeks. After the brewery we came back to my apartment. I wish I would have cleaned a little more, but at least his parents got to see my place for the 1st time. That night we all went to a FABULOUS dinner at Bellissimos in Little Falls. It came highly reccomended and I would definately agree. It was pretty fancy and we all had drinks and appetizers. After dinner we ended up going back to Adam's parents hotel. It had been raining cats and dogs ALL DAY, and my friends didn't seem too eager to go out.... so we just stayed in with Adams parents. We had cake and I opened a bazillion presents from them!!!! We ended up spending the night at his parents hotel room because it was too nasty outside to keep driving back and forth. I was really happy that Adam's parents came in town for my birthday. It was good to see them, and I think I ate enough to get my through the week, not to mention the 1/2 of a ganache cake I still have in my fridge.
On Sunday Adam and I finally booked our trip for Christmas. We're flying into Detroit, then to Las Vegas from Detroit, then back to Detroit for the New Year, then back to Newark. If it sounds confusing that's because it is... which is probably why we put it off for so long... but now that it's all said and done, I'm very happy. I can't wait to go to Vegas. Adam's been there 2 times in the past 4 months, so Christmas will be his 3rd time this year.
For my birthday Adam got my an iPod nano. He ordered it online, and it's not here yet, but hopefully next week. We had a very relaxing day, and went to dinner and were in bed by 9:00... it was perfect.
On Monday night Adam went to dinner with some people from work so I hung out with Mason for a bit. He let me drive his new car, and we went to the mall and had dinner at California Pizza Kitchen. After dinner we hung out here for a bit, and sent him home with a chunk of my birthday cake. Mason and I have been hanging out more frequently, probably because we work together and seem to walk out at the same time. He's definately one of my best friends here in Jersey and I can't wait for him to meet Kendra... they're MFEO!!!
Anyways, that's about all. I'm going to Adam's basketball game tonight and then going to attempt to make it to bed before 11:00. I'm know that's not late, but I feel like I might be coming down with something so I want to make sure to get enough rest.

And what a good cake it was. It's a good thing I didn't make you that flourless chocolate cake last Friday, or you'd have OD'd on chocolate last weekend. Maybe I'll give it another shot if Kendra comes to visit.

When Adam's parents come into town, do you guys do anything BUT eat and drink??? I'm glad you enjoyed the brewpub...I did, too! Maybe next time we are in town we can go to IKEA...then we could shop and eat...what could be better? (Have you ever known anyone who has ever eaten any of those IKEA advertised food specials?)
