Babysitting, Babysitting, and "Kid Food"

After my mom and sister went home, it was practically the start of the next weekend. I feel like I go through my life, every week, counting down the days until the next weekend. I don’t usually remember much of the week, and tend to look forward to the weekend more than I should.
This weekend started out very good. After work on Friday I went to Happy Hour with some people from work. We ended up hanging out until later that night, and it was a lot of fun. It’s good to be around the people you work with in a casual setting, and be able to talk, about non-work things for once.
On Saturday Adam headed down to Hoboken with the gang, and I stayed home because I had to be at babysitting by 5:00pm, and going there drunk didn’t seem like a good idea. Mason and I grabbed BBQ for lunch, and he seemed very happy with my lunch choice. I was happy because I’m not always sure that Mason appreciates the same types of food as I do, but it was good that we both agreed on this. I had my wings, which were phenomenal, and Mason got a ½ pulled pork sandwich and a hot dog. After lunch I went home to watch the Spartans lose in their last home game of the season. I can’t wait for the Big Ten tournament, and for those March Madness brackets!!! I can’t say that I think the Spartans can pull off a Final Four run like last year, but I’m hoping it will provide me with at least a couple nights of entertainment.
After the Spartan upset I went to baby-sitt and actually had a lot of fun. I got to play with, feed, bathe and put to bed the 1 year old twins. I use to think that having twins would be fun, I still do, but it turns every daily routine into a much more complicated task. I think I did a good job, and the kids were asleep by 9:00. I went home and feel asleep pretty early, and slept in on Sunday which felt pretty good.
I babysat again on Sunday for another family. I was there from noon to 4:00pm and then ran to the grocery store. Once I got home, I was not in the mood to cook chili (which was all the ingredients I had just bought) so I made chicken nuggets and mac n’ cheese instead. I think when I’m around kids, seeing them eat chicken nuggets, hot dogs, applesauce, etc, it puts me in the mood for that kind of food. It feels good to eat “kid” food again, and unlike most people my age, I never really stopped. Nothing makes me happier than a bowl of spongebob macaroni and cheese. I love Oscar Meyer cheese franks, and chicken nuggets in the shape of dinosaurs and letters. I love Fruity Pebble, fruit snacks, fruit roll-ups, easy cheese (cheese in a can), handi snacks, pretty much anything my mother DIDN’T give me growing up.
Anyways, this weekend was pretty uneventful, but allowed me to get some much needed R&R. This week will be much more eventful. One of my good friends, Abbie from State is coming to visit. We’ll be spending the majority of the weekend in the city, and hopefully I’ll have some good pictures to post next week.

Sounds like you had a relaxing weekend. You need to rest up for the excitement that you'll have with Abbie this weekend. Hope you have a nice spring like weekend weather wise...that always makes the trip into the city all the more comfortable. Aaron's enjoying his week off but all of this friends aren't off for spring break this week so he's just got WEGMANS! Oh, well...the week will fly by! I love your postings.

Mmmm, macaroni and cheese. That's got to be an American thing because I definitely can't find any here.
