On Friday, I left work a little early to pick up Rachel to go to the Rascal Flatts concert. It was raining on and off for most of the day, and the forecast was for heavy rain and storms throughout the night. Luckily for us it only rained for one song, and the trash bags which I stole from work earlier in the day served as an excellent temporary umbrella. We met some really awesome twin sisters who we talked with during the concert, and had an all around great time. They sang most of my favorites and one song I’d never heard before but really enjoyed, Skin (read the lyrics).
After the concert, and waiting in the parking lot for over an hour (all the cars were being forced to use the parkway North and we were told if we wanted to try to get onto the parkway South, we’d have to wait until all the cars were gone…so we did), we headed down to Manasquan to meet up with everyone else. When we got down there Adam and Jim were on their way back from the Osprey, so we met up with them and got our 1st Fajitas of the summer.
On Saturday was our party, and after laying out on the beach for an hour or so, we were off to the grocery store to get food for the party. We had a good turn out for the party and a couple new additions to the house, including a pretty sweet Michigan State beer pong table Kory had made, and a very special apron Kendra brought back for Adam from Europe (see photo). After fireworks, food, and lots of beer we all crashed.

Sunday morning Jim and I went to church, and then picked up bagels for the house. We went down to the beach again, and then came home to quite a messy house. Lauren, Rachel, Kory and I spent a good hour picking up from the night before and getting the house in order again. That night we finally made it to the Osprey!!! It was packed as usual, but felt good to be back…
By Monday morning I was exhausted and ready to head home. All the sun (don’t worry Mom, I wore sunblock), drinking and partying had gotten to me and I was ready to crash. Once we got home I feel asleep for a couple hours, only getting up to eat and shower. Our apartment was almost 90 degrees and I felt disgusting!!! Adam of course decided we wouldn’t turn the air conditioning on because “it’ll be cooling down the rest of the week and it won’t help us cool off the bedroom.” Well, it’s now Thursday and we’ve been sweating our asses off every night since Monday, waiting for the “cool down.” Adam even checked out Wal-mart for an A/C unit for the bedroom, only to find that every store was destroyed, and there wasn’t a since unit to be found!!!
