We’ve always been very lucky with the weather whenever we were in Manasquan, but I suppose that all good things had to come to an end. For the very first time ever, I spent an entire weekend down the shore without setting foot on the beach.
Friday night I babysat, while the boys headed down for a “guys night.” Saturday morning Rachel picked me up and we were down in Manasquan by 10:00am. The weather was dreary… rainy, with no promise of sun for Sunday either. After taking a day trip to Wal-Mart, we came back to the house for naps. For dinner Rachel and I went to Carraba’s, while the guys stayed back and attempted to make burgers. There were only 5 of us total that night, and apparently the boys didn’t see much use of firing up the grill for the 3 of them, so they chose to drink their dinner instead. By the time we arrived back to the house, they were ready for the night. We ended up at The Osprey for the night, which wasn’t very packed, but was a nice change from the usual.
On Sunday it was cloudy, but wasn’t raining. I went to church with Jim at 11:00am and hoped that by noon it would be clear enough to lay out. It wasn’t, so we went to grab lunch with Rachel before heading home.
The weekend was fairly uneventful but offered a nice change of pace from the hectic previous weekend. This weekend they’re calling for more rain. My cousin Andrea was going to make the trip down here for the weekend, but may hold off until more promising weather. I’ll still be heading down. Rain or shine…I’m getting every pennies worth of that house!!!
